Ashtanga Yoga for Beginners – Day 7 of 7

Last Lesson of the Audio Course

Today I did the last lesson of the Ashtanga yoga for beginners audio course (from Live Yoga Life), and I feel that I have made a great progress in the past week. I learned to enjoy stretching my body and finding my limits, listening to the instructions and following the poses step by step.

In today’s last class of Ashtanga yoga for beginners, I combined all the postures and techniques that I have learned from the previous classes 1 to 6 and some newly seated postures.

Proud of Myself

We went through both Sun Salutation A and B, followed by the standing poses I learned in the other lessons, I felt good knowing that I can only listen to the instructions and immediately know what I am supposed to do. I didn’t look at the PDF I printed (only with the new sitting poses at the end of the lesson).

I feel proud of myself that I have been able to follow all the poses in today’s lesson and feel good with every stretch.

Now that I have reached the last lesson I understand how important it was to do the lessons one after another. Listening to the explanations were sometimes long and I wanted to ‘get to the point’, but now I know that these explanations are very important for my whole experience with yoga.

Yoga is Individual

As I already mentioned in some of my previous posts, yoga is all about listening to my body and these beginners lessons help me understand how important it really is. Yoga is all about my individual experience and getting to know myself. Each person has their own limits (mental and physical), so yoga helps us find our own understanding of our body.

A Summary of my Experience with this Audio Course

Tomorrow I will post a summary and a review of Live Yoga Life, where I will sum up all the pros and cons of this course and my total review.
